FINALLY!! Boards is back!!!! Why'd it go offline in the first place?

I'm a pretty basic person. In some ways that's a good thing; I'm not a controversial person and I tend to get along with most people. But sometimes I feel like the basic-ness of my personality is a barrier to actually creating real friendships. I want to find a personality trait — preferably a positive trait — that will make me different enough to stand out while still being likable to most people.

So what are some unique ways to add a little spice to my personality without alienating others?

P.S. Don't say "Just get a hobby."

Do you think it's possible to become a different person than who you are right now? I mean, it seems like a stupid question, because of course it's possible. People change as they get older... right?

But sometimes it feels like my personality is so set-in-stone, that I can't do anything about it. Does that make sense? I just feel like a lost Cause.

I just broke up with my boyfriend and I don't know how to cope with the heartbreak. I feel like I can't breathe and I just want to lie in bed and cry all day. Has anyone been through something similar? Please offer me some advice on how to deal with this awful feeling.

How'd you guys find out about this site? I found it through allchans.org but I'm guessing most of you got here from somewhere else.

Look, I get it - One of the reasons why being an American sucks is because you're constantly hounded with not being "worldly" enough to those who live in Europe and Asia and other parts of the world. Fine. I get that.

However, whenever I try to listen to a podcast that reports on international news, I get the same problem time and time again - The announcer might be able to speak in clear (or somewhat clear) English but all of the guests speak English like it's their seventh language!

There are some really exciting overseas developments (The Senegal election delay, the Somali explosion) but how am I supposed to follow them when all of the guests on these podcasts speak English in such a thick, indecipherable accent that they may as well just speak their native tongue?!

So where, dear Internet, may I find podcasts that cover international news where both the announcer and guest speak relatively clear, unaccented English?

I was at a green day concert with my brother and my cousin and a few kids from my school. For some reason even though it was at a giant venue, they were performing on the floor and me and my brother and my cousin were literally like right in front of them and I was doing backflips on a pogo stick. Then I went up to go to the bathroom except the stall walls were so short that you could see the face of whoever was using it. Then I saw some hillbilly redneck kid from my school and he was crying because his girlfriend divorced him or something also he cut half his mullet off for some reason (half as in one side of his head had a mullet and one didn't)

Thanks, M$, for pushing "Copilot" onto my computer, causing it to crash and forcing me to lose half-a-page of writing. Did not need that in my day.

i just had the craziest thought: what if cats are actually aliens sent here to spy on us? like, they always act so suspicious, plotting something in those sneaky little minds of theirs. i mean, think about it: they have those weird eyes, they're super agile, and they don't even speak our language.

any thoughts?
