Also, here's a thought.

Instead of creating one long thread, make one saying something along the lines of "Long thread below" and post as many walls of text you want under that. It keeps everything small and navigable. I haven't seen anyone do this yet, but I think it's a good idea _(:зゝ∠)_

Adding onto my previous reply: think of a new thread as creating a new user profile. Post under it while it's still at the top getting attention until it's fallen off, then that's when you create a new one.

I'm pretty sure they meant creating two threads right after each other. This is frowned upon in many thread-based imageboards, especially with long threads since they take up quite a bit of space on the main page. You could've made the main thread as a reply under your previous one or, as they said, wait until there's enough new content before posting again.
